1. EDTA Properties: White crystal powder, melting point 240centigrade (break down). Insoluble in cold water, ethanol, general organic solution; Soluble in NaOH, Na2CO3, ammonia solution and boiling water at 100centigrade. Its alkali metal salt is soluble in water. The solubility of sodium salt in water refer to the following table. Usage: EDTA has a wide application. It can be used as bleaching fixer in processing of colorful sensitive materials, dying reagent, fiber processing reagent, additive in cosmetics, anticoagulant, detergent, stabilizer, polymerization reagent in synthetic rubber.
