     About this company : About us Joe's Oyster Company is situated in the lagoon and bay area of Walvis Bay, on the west coast of Namibia. Walvis Bay is known for its deepwater harbor as well as its abundant marine life. Set to the backdrop of the undulating Namib Desert. JOC forms part of the newly developed marine aqua park and is recognized as one of the most modern an well equipped farms in the area. The farm is made up of 500 hectares of water and is found approximately 2km S.S.E of Pelican Point. The Atlantic ocean with its cold algae rich water and good circulation has been proven to be an excellent area for oyster cultivation. Our oysters JOC specializes in the farming of Crassostrea Gigas oysters, also known as the Namibian Pacific oyster. Because of the nutrient rich water of Walvis Bay, our oysters reach marketable size in only 7 months, compared to the 2-3 years growth period needed in other countries. Our oysters are popular around the world and JOC offers these delicacies in a variety of market sizes. . We pride our self on a 33-38% meat content, were the mass of the meat in other countries is only 23-25% of the total mass. We also produce large quantities of Ostrea Edulis or better known as the European flat oyster.
